Ted’s latest newsletter makes a solid case for using round timbers in architectural design.

Small diameter young plantation trees are often discarded or churned into paper, however they are a viable construction material. The best way to use this resource are as round poles, resulting in minimal waste by utilising the natural shape.

With a few examples such as the Earth Centre in South Yorkshire (pictured below) Ted proves the value of round timber structures.
